GRE Psychology Subject Test – Syllabus
The GRE Psychology Subject Test is categorized into three contents:
- Experimental Psychology: This content is oriented to Experimental or Natural Science and comprises about 40 % of the total questions. These questions are on learning, language, memory, thinking and perception, physiological psychology, ethology and comparative psychology. All these questions make up the first part of the two sub-scores.
- Social Psychology: This content is Social Science oriented and from this section you can expect about 43 % of the questions. The questions of this second content touch on clinical and abnormal, developmental, personality, and social psychology. This content contributes to the second half of the sub-score.
- General Psychology: The remaining 17 % of the questions is in the category of General Psychology and these are on the history of psychology, applied psychology, measurement, research designs and statistics. This last section does not contribute to any of the two sub-scores but adds up to your total score.
