GRE Biochemistry Subject Test – Format
- The biochemistry subject scores will include not only the total score in the subject but also individual scores in its three major areas: biochemistry, molecular and cell biology and genetics. This helps in suggesting your strengths and weaknesses in the particular sub-sections.
- There are a total of 180 multiple-choice questions, some of which are divided into sub sections. These are patterned through laboratory situation descriptions and results of experiments or diagrams. Since the three areas are essential to the study of organisms, the questions in your paper will also include eukaryotes and prokaryotes.
- The sub-sections are interrelated. Hence the content of the questions will encompass more than one aptitude area.
- The question paper tests your knowledge as well as your ability to solve problems. These include mathematical calculations that do not require calculators.
- Questions on methodology as well as data interpretation are essential requirements in all the three sections.
